It is linked to the parent who receives the child benefit (<em>kinderbijslag<\/em>) from SVB and is affected by household income, assets and partner status.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is it for?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The parent who has the relevant kinderbijslag in their name is generally the person with the right to kindgebonden budget, provided the other conditions are met. Dienst Toeslagen says that if you already receive zorgtoeslag, huurtoeslag or kinderopvangtoeslag, you may automatically be notified if you are entitled to kindgebonden budget. If not, you can apply through Mijn Toeslagen.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Income and 2026 changes<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no single useful income ceiling to quote for every family because the amount depends on family composition and income. Dienst Toeslagen says the 2026 amount increased slightly for some lower-income single parents and couples, while some higher-income households receive less than in 2025. Use the official proefberekening rather than relying on a generic threshold.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cross-link: kinderbijslag is not the same thing<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Kinderbijslag<\/strong> is administered by SVB and is a different scheme. Kindgebonden budget is administered through Dienst Toeslagen.
